Objectives & Impacts

TH2ICINO is dedicated to establishing a hydrogen ecosystem in the vicinity of Malpensa Airport, strategically located along the Ticino river, between Malpensa and the city of Milan in the province of Varese. The project’s goals spin around the creation, development, and demonstration of a replicable micro hydrogen ecosystem that spans the entire value chain. Complementing this, TH2ICINO is committed to crafting and unveiling a Master Planning Tool (MPT) designed to play a pivotal role in the expansion and replicability of Hydrogen Valleys not only in Italy but across Europe.

In its quest to facilitate the replication and expansion of the hydrogen economy, TH2ICINO conducts a comprehensive examination of its initial status. The first stage involves modeling, simulation, and scenario analysis, encompassing the journey from the production to the end-user. Thorough evaluation and optimization processes are conducted, taking into account various technological constraints. This strategic approach ensures a sustainable and well-rounded development.
